Every day offers you plenty of reasons to make excuses. But excuses bring you nothing of real value.

Sure, a plausible excuse may enable you to save face, to appear more diligent and disciplined than you know you are. But do you merely want to appear successful, or would you prefer to actually be successful?

Excuses hold you back because they enable you to avoid responsibility and the achievement it brings. You deserve more than just a life filled with useless excuses.

Instead of making excuses, choose to make some honest, authentic progress. Even a tiny effort is infinitely more productive than a big, impressive excuse.

Don't settle for a growing list of reasons for failure. You can just as easily give yourself real, compelling reasons to succeed.

Free yourself from the shackles of useless excuses. And see this day as the grand opportunity that it is.

Run toward the challenges

Of course it's difficult. That's what makes it so valuable.

The time, effort and commitment you put into reaching the
goal have their own rewards, over and above the achievement
itself. They make you stronger, more disciplined, and more
effective.

When great effort is called for, great opportunities abound.
When challenges and difficulties surround you, there is much
value to be created.

Instead of cursing the need for sustained and focused
effort, be genuinely thankful for the chance. For you are
designed and equipped to get things done, and life is
superbly rewarding when you do.

When difficult work is called for, step quickly forward with
enthusiasm. It is truly your moment to shine, to grow, and
to create according to your best expectations.

Run toward the challenges. It is in those challenges that
you will fulfill your greatest dreams.

Conquer Doubt

Conquer doubt

Are your doubts holding you back? The way to conquer your
doubts is with action.

Wondering about whether you can do it will not get it done.
The only way to know for sure is to jump right in and get
started.

Avoiding the challenges will only make those challenges grow
bigger. Instead, walk right up to each challenge, and the
closer you get, the more ways you'll discover to get beyond
it.

If you wait until conditions are perfect, all you'll ever do
is wait. Great accomplishments are given birth by starting
from where you are with what you have.

As soon as you start to take action, you'll begin to replace
your doubts with courage and confidence. The more you do,
the more insignificant and powerless those doubts will
become.

Stop wondering and start doing. Once you've done it you'll
always know, without the slightest doubt, that you can.

The power of your passion

Though the odds may not be in your favor, you can do it.
Though the challenges are great, you can make it happen.

People will likely tell you it's impossible. Even so, you
can find a way to make it possible and to make it real.

When it means enough to you, then you can do it. When you
are willing and committed and persistent, you will get
yourself there.

Look within yourself and find those values that you most
earnestly desire to express with your life. The things that
are most genuinely important to you are the things that will
power your achievements.

When you can put the power of your passion behind it, you
will create it. Make the effort to find and to know that
passion, and there is no limit to what you can accomplish.

Be utterly true to who you are. And fulfill your greatest
possibilities.

The Full Distance

The full distance

What a shame it would be if the results you have worked to achieve required just a little longer to arrive than you were willing to wait. How sad it would be for your ship to finally come in just a few minutes after you had given up and left the dock.

Success is built upon effort and commitment. Success also requires persistence and patience.

It is of little use to work for years toward a goal if you give up just a few days before the goal is reached. There is no point in working through hundreds of obstacles if you allow the very last obstacle to stop you.

Go ahead, close the deal, finish the work and get yourself all the way to the goal you've chosen. Take those last remaining steps so that you'll hold the prize firmly in your hands.

Rest when you are weary but do not quit. Achievement belongs to those who can go the full distance.

If it's important enough to start, it's important enough to finish. Be sure to always take the next step, for it could very well be the one that finally gets you there.

The Life that you have

There will be times when you find yourself in extremely difficult circumstances. When those times come, it's important to put things in perspective.

Whatever else may be going on, always remember that you have been blessed with life and the ability to live it as you choose. Think of how completely awesome that is.

The idea that you are a victim of any particular
circumstance is simply not accurate. For when you look at the big picture, you're not a victim at all.

You are a very fortunate beneficiary of the greatest circumstance that you could possibly imagine -- being alive and able to direct your own life. All other circumstances pale in comparison.

The transitory ups and downs are merely tiny threads in the overall fabric of your life. Each one ultimately adds to the richness of your experience.

The quality of that experience is up to you, and the fact that you're aware and able to think and act confers on you an incalculable wealth. See it, value and appreciate it, and spend each day being truly worthy of the unique, precious
life that you have.

When the going gets tough, smile. And know that you have what it takes to make it through.

When stress and tension and confusion surround you, relax. Select a specific challenge, deal with it, and then move calmly and confidently to the next.

If you're being pulled in every direction by forces beyond your control, take time to remember what you value most.
Focus on what's important to you, and you'll naturally move
toward it.

There will be times when it seems that your dreams are slipping away. Remind yourself once again why you follow
those dreams, and you will bring them back to life.

Choose to live not in a world that's overwhelmed with problems. Choose instead to live in a world that is overflowing with positive possibilities.

On the surface, life can often seem tumultuous and incomprehensible. Yet deep inside, where it truly matters, life is the way you see it and becomes what you choose to
make it.

The Goal Ahead by Ralph Marston

If you find it difficult to deal with where you are, look ahead toward where you're going. Keep yourself focused on the goal at the end of the road, and you'll find thestrength to move steadily down that road.

When you continue looking ahead, even the difficult stepswill seem lighter. The burdens of the moment become much more bearable when you know there is a purpose behind them.

Your dreams can pull you toward them if you'll give thosedreams a prominent place in your heart and your mind. Look ahead toward where you intend to go, and you'll find that each challenge makes you stronger.

When your eye is on the goal, the distractions won't be nearly so distracting. Your efforts will gain the immense power of focus when you're always clearly aware of where you're headed.

Your time, your energy, and your resources will get used no matter which direction you are looking. By choosing to look ahead, you get the highest return for the efforts you invest
in your life.

Look ahead, toward the place you most want to be. The more you look, the faster you'll move forward.

Priorities

You've had many successes in your life and you'll have many more. In matters large and small you have a history of achieving what you have truly chosen to achieve.

The question to focus upon is this. What will you now choose to achieve?

How will you make the most meaningful and fulfilling use of the time and resources available to you? Which of the many
opportunities will you now decide to follow?

You have a way of reaching those goals that you've authentically committed to reach. When something is important enough to you, when it is a priority, you know how to make it happen.

So what are the priorities you choose to have on this day? Upon what will you focus your considerable powers of achievement?

Whatever you make into a priority will surely become an achievement. Choose your priorities today with care, because you are indeed choosing how your life will soon be.
