Apart from being a really nice story, I think it highlights the shift in values that many are experiencing in this era. For some, this has been forced on them by adversity, and the lessons they take out depend very much on how they deal with the - sometimes very harsh - reality of their circumstances. For others it has been a more gentle, more 'voluntary', process, but whatever the path, the outcome has been a reevaluation of the trust placed in institutions and systems once thought to be bedrock of our existence.
For many the destruction of security and survival systems built up over many years of hard work has been devastating. While adversity may bring enlightenment, it is sometimes hard to appreciate how this is going to pay the bond or put food on the table.
